This is a thrilling Chardonnay in the leaner style of Chablis from Liquid Farm and a collection of vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills. Each sip discovers something new — gentle spices, Meyer lemon and flowers — and a driving minerality that keeps the wine fresh and vibrant all the way to the finish. It’s a bottle to have at the table with chilled shellfish, Dungeness crab or lobster. It would also go well with a roast bird, a chicken fricasée or shellfish bisque. The beautiful wine could also be enjoyed after the Champagne on New Year’s Eve.

Region: Central Coast

Price: About $40

Style: Racy and elegant

What it goes with: Chilled shellfish, lobster, roast bird, shellfish bisque
