UC Global #Food2025 Systems Forum attempts to feed 8 billion people

The University of California and its Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources has enlisted the help of farmers, researchers, policymakers, environmentalists and economists within and outside the university to address how to sustainably feed 8 billion people by 2025 at the Global Food Systems Forum, happening Tuesday.
The daylong forum in Ontario, Calif., will feature two discussion panels with keynote addresses from Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and president of the Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice; and Wes Jackson, founder and president of The Land Institute. The first panel, moderated by journalist and author Mark Arax, will focus on challenges facing the food system from a global perspective, while the second panel, moderated by writer Michael Specter, will look at California’s responsibilities and opportunities in shaping the food system.
The general public can watch a live webcast of the forum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT online and join in on the conversation by using the hasthtag #food2025 on Twitter.
