Pinot Noir enthusiasts across the city can celebrate the varietal at this year’s sixth annual Pasadena PinotFest. The event will kick off with a wine tasting on Jan. 26 and a dinner on Feb. 2 at Noir Food and Wine in Pasadena.

Noir’s executive chef Claud Beltran, along with chef de cuisine Jacqueline Huynh, will be serving a four-course dinner paired with vintage wines from Kosta Browne winery located in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley. Dishes on the menu will include a chanterelle mushroom custard, poached Sacramento Delta sturgeon served with farro and sautéed broccoli stems, an Australian lamb chop with potato latkes and roasted balsamic cippolini onions and, for dessert, an assortment of Indian sweets.

The PinotFest grand tasting will be held on Feb. 9 at the Altadena Town and Country Club where attendees can sip more than 200 Pinot Noirs from wineries throughout California and Oregon.

The kickoff tasting on Jan. 26 is $29 per person, and tickets for the Kosta Browne wine dinner on Feb. 2 start at $255 per person. Tickets for the grand tasting on Feb. 9 are $89 per person for general admission or $119 per person for VIP admission, which includes early entry. Tickets for PinotFest happenings can be purchased online. A portion of the event’s proceeds, including purchased wines, will benefit Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services.
