L.A. Auto Show 2015: 2016 Honda Civic Coupe

Honda is refreshing its best-selling sedan by bringing new power trains and new styling to the 10th generation of this 44-year-old nameplate. This Coupe follows the recent unveiling of the sedan, and will be followed by a hatchback and two sportier versions.

Why it matters

The Civic, which has vied with the Prius as top-selling car in California, has been bread and butter for Honda for decades. Currently eclipsed by the sportier CR-V, the refreshed Civic is expected to breathe new sales life into this key vehicle line.

What's new

Honda is offering a turbo-charged engine in the Civic for the first time, while also making the 2016 model more spacious, with more leg room and bigger trunk space. The Coupe is sportier than the sedan in several dimensions – an inch lower, with a 5-inch shorter rear overhang – for a sleeker, faster look. new vehicle sits wider and lower than the current model, and sports a swoopier, fastback tail and a longer, more aggressive hood.
