Danny Treto (2-0) threw a two-hitter and gave up one run in five innings and Luis Perez gave up one hit and had three strikeouts in two innings of relief for Birmingham (12-9). Perez drove in two runs with a single and sacrifice fly.

Rigo Vargas struck out 11 in six innings for visiting Poly (15-6, 8-0). North Hollywood is 6-9, 3-5.

Marco Ortiz had three hits and scored three runs and Robert Maldonado added two hits, including a three-run double, for host Garfield (5-16, 1-7). Jordan is 2-6 in league.

Roosevelt 6, Bell 2
Edder Hernandez knocked in the go-ahead run on a slap single in the top of the seventh inning for visiting Roosevelt (16-4, 6-2). Roosevelt then loaded the bases and Ramon Marquez knocked in three runs with a triple. Marquez had four RBIs. Winning pitcher Cesar Martinez (3-0) struck out seven, allowing four hits and one earned run. Bell is 17-4-1, 7-1.

South Gate 6, Huntington Park 1
Isaac Morales struck out 15 to get the win for host South Gate (13-7, 7-1). Walter Rivas hit a two-RBI triple to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Rams. Huntington Park drops to 1-7 in league.

Carson 15, Washington 1 (5 innings)
Corey Camarillo went three for three with three runs scored and three RBIs and David Jeter went three for four with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead visiting Carson (12-10, 5-3) past Washington (0-8 in league).

Adam Franks had three doubles and two RBIs and Andrew Strassner (4-0) struck out six to get the win for visiting Palisades (13-3, 8-0).

Jordan Alcantar went three for three with the game-winning RBI and Juan Medina was two for four with two RBI and was the winning pitcher for host Venice (13-11, 5-3).

Anthony Moore (2-2) struck out 10 in a one-hitter with no earned runs, Trayvon Robinson hit a home run and Marquise Pittman was three for three for visiting Crenshaw (3-9, 2-6).

Antonio Reyes (3-1) struck out seven in a three-hitter and hit a home run, Juan Camacho had an RBI triple and a single, Fidel Medina addded two triples, and Curtis Johnson had two RBIs for host Fremont (8-5, 7-1). Jefferson is 6-2 in league.

Vindy Mena had four hits, including a home run, and two RBIs and Jamel Wells added three hits, four runs and five stolen bases for host Locke (10-6, 5-3), which built an 8-2 in the fifth inning. Alex Acevedo had four hits and three RBIs for Manual Arts (1-7 in league).

Donovon Hudson (3-1) had four strikeouts in a complete-game win for Dorsey (4-4, 4-3). Host Crenshaw fell to 2-10, 1-6.

Fidel Medina (2-0) had seven strikeouts and allowed one hit over seven innings to lead visiting Fremont (7-5, 6-1) over Jefferson (5-2 league).

Senior Javier Hernandez hit a double and stole home with two outs in the top of the fourth inning and Sam Torres struck out six batters and walked four for visiting Bell (17-3-1, 7-0). Senior Ramon Marquez pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks and hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning for Roosevelt (15-4, 5-2).

In his first varsity game, junior Eduardo Nortao pitched two innings of relief with no earned runs, senior Ruben Garcia went three for four with two runs scored and junior Ray White went one for one with three walks, one RBI and two runs scored, including the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, to lift host L.A. Jordan (6-7, 2-5). Garfield is 0-7 in league.

Matt Kretzschmar (6-0) went seven innings with eight strikeouts and Juan Dorado went three for four to lead host San Pedro (18-3, 7-0). Narbonne is 4-3 in league.
