Whittier development: An article in the Nov. 2 California section about a project planned for the site of the former Fred C. Nelles Youth Correctional Facility said that the developer, Brookfield Residential Properties, purchased the property from the state three years ago for $42.5 million. The company struck a deal at that time with the state, but the sale is not expected to become final until 2015.

Downtown speak-easy: An article in the Oct. 31 Section A about a long-forgotten Prohibition-era speak-easy in the basement of the Rosslyn Hotel annex said that according to the Los Angeles Conservancy, the Rosslyn annex had not yet been added to the National Register of Historic Places. After publication, the conservancy said that, in fact, the annex was listed in August 2013.

Denis Johnson: An article in the Nov. 2 Arts & Books section about novelist Denis Johnson said that the title of his 2000 novel was “The Name at the End of the World.” The title is “The Name of the World.”

Breeders’ Cup: A summary of the Breeders’ Cup Turf championship in the Nov. 2 Sports section reported that winner Main Sequence was trained by Gordon Motion. The trainer’s name is Graham Motion.

High school quarterbacks: The On High Schools column in the Nov. 3 Sports section reported that seven quarterbacks who at one time attended Westlake or Oaks Christian high schools were now starting for other schools. The number is six. Nolan Easley, who was identified as the starter for Moorpark High, is a backup. Moorpark’s starter is Nick Clarke.
