Chinese investment: An article in the Aug. 25 Section A about Chinese firms investing in U.S. assets said that China Petrochemical Corp, also known as Sinopec, closed a $2.5-billion deal to buy a one-third stake in Devon Energy Corp. of Oklahoma City. Sinopec does not own an interest in Devon. It bought a one-third interest in five of Devon’s oil and natural gas production ventures.

“The Face”: In a review of the opera “The Face” in the Aug. 27 Calendar section, the tenor was identified as Daniel Thomas. His name is Daniel Norman.

Charter schools: An Aug. 28 article in the LATExtra section about a study of the effects of charter schools on public and private school enrollment referred to Richard Buddin as a Rand Corp. economist. While the study identified him as such, Buddin’s affiliation with Rand ended Jan. 31 and Rand had no role in Buddin’s study. The article also said there are 193 charter schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are 186.

Neutra house: An article in the Aug. 19 Arts & Books section about an art installation at Richard Neutra’s VDL House said the home is on West Silver Lake Drive; it’s on Silver Lake Boulevard.
