The body of Sandra Cantu, 8, was found inside a suitcase in an irrigation pond on Monday after she was last seen near her Tracy, Calif., home on March 27.

Throughout the day Sunday, people stopped by the chapel to leave flowers, cards, stuffed animals and written messages of condolence for Sandra’s family.

After speaking to gathered journalists, relatives of Melissa Huckaby leave to attend Easter services at Clover Road Baptist Church, where Huckaby’s grandfather Clifford Lawless is pastor. Huckaby, the mother of Sandra Cantu’s friend, has been detained by police as the sole suspect in Cantu’s slaying.
