Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes east of Redding
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Friday morning eight miles from Chester, Calif., east of Redding, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:44 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 27 miles from Susanville, 36 miles from Magalia, 40 miles from Paradise and 101 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been three earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
