Earthquake: 4.1 quake strikes near Searles Valley, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 4.1 earthquake was reported Friday morning 37 miles from San Bernardino County’s Searles Valley, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor occurred at 11:48 a.m. at a depth of 27.3 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 51 miles from Pahrump, Nev., 55 miles from Ridgecrest, Calif., and 84 miles from Summerlin South, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
