All lanes of the 110 Freeway reopen after would-be jumper is safely talked off bridge
All lanes of the 110 Freeway opened at 12:26 a.m. Thursday after police safely talked a woman off a bridge, ending a four-hour standoff during which she threatened to jump.
As firefighters set up air cushions beneath the bridge, traffic backed up for miles in both directions.
Firefighters and police responded just before 7 p.m. to the woman, who was perched above the freeway on the 6th Street bridge, according to Erik Scott, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Only one lane was open in either direction of the freeway, Scott said.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert as law enforcement sought to coax the woman down.
The woman surrendered to authorities just after 11 p.m., according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.
