605 Freeway shut down in Lakewood area after person hit and killed
All northbound lanes of the 605 Freeway in the Lakewood area were shut down late Monday after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car, the California Highway Patrol said.
The agency issued a SigAlert about 10 p.m. after the accident was reported near Del Amo Boulevard. Traffic was being diverted onto Carson Street.
Officers were at the scene gathering evidence. It was unclear when the freeway would be reopened.
