Arson investigators were trying to determine Tuesday what caused a fire in a Long Beach home where a woman’s body was found.
Long Beach firefighters arrived just after 10 a.m. Tuesday to find smoke and flames inside a single-story home in the 300 block of East Del Amo Boulevard.
As they went room to room, firefighters discovered the woman’s body in the back of the house.
Los Angeles County coroner’s investigators had not yet identified the woman, who was described as between 30 and 40 years old.
Homicide detectives went to the scene, but the investigation was turned over to the Long Beach Fire Department, said police spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.
