Deputy struck by vehicle during traffic stop near Palmdale
Authorities are investigating a three-car crash on the southbound Highway 14 after a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy was hit by a vehicle during a traffic stop late Saturday near Palmdale, authorities said.
About 8:50 p.m., a deputy responded to a traffic stop involving a person suspected of driving under the influence. As the deputy exited the vehicle, a passing vehicle struck him, then crashed into another vehicle, according to CHP and sheriff’s officials.
The deputy suffered minor injuries. Two lanes of the southbound Highway 14 were still closed as of 10 p.m. Saturday.
