More than 80 firefighters responded to a fire that tore through an unfinished apartment building in Anaheim on Tuesday, causing an estimated $2 million in damage, officials said.
The blaze south of the 5 Freeway near the intersection of North Muller Street and West Lincoln Avenue was reported just before 8:30 a.m., an Anaheim fire dispatcher told KTLA-TV.
The structure, one of several buildings under construction in the area, partly collapsed as the fire consumed it. Smoke was visible for miles.
The Anaheim Fire Department tweeted shortly before noon that the blaze “is currently out.”
No injuries were reported, according to Anaheim police.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
