Jackson trial: Defense gets nanny mixed up with Nancy Grace

Michael Jackson’s nephew Taj Jackson was on the witness stand Thursday afternoon when a defense attorney inquired about Grace Rawaramba, the onetime nanny for the pop star’s three children who was eventually fired.

Was Rawaramba truthful, asked Kathryn Cahan, an attorney representing AEG Live, a defendant in the Jackson family’s wrongful-death suit.

Yes, she was, Taj Jackson said.

Cahan then handed him a piece of paper, saying it might help refresh his memory.

Taj Jackson read it, looked at Cahan and announced, “That’s Nancy Grace,” as in the HLN network’s prosecutor-turned-host.

He didn’t need to do any explaining. The courtroom erupted in laughter.

Cahan had given Taj Jackson a copy of a Dec. 11, 2011, post he had written.

Jackson’s post was a shot at reporter Roger Friedman. “Please don’t pay this reporter-gossiper any attention,” Jackson wrote. “He has been nothing by anti-Jackson since day one and has made a career off of it. However, like the sneaky snake he is, he wiggles around the truth and smothers it with convincing lies. I saw him do this to my uncle while he was still alive. ”

The two-paragraph post ends with Jackson’s comparing Friedman to other reporters who followed his uncle’s life and the allegations of child molestation. “Sorry … but there are a couple of people who truly disgust me. And to me, he belongs in the same category as Grace, (Diane) Dimond and (Martin) Bashir,” the post read.

Grace? That would be Nancy Grace.

The other Grace -- that would be Grace Rawaramba -- is expected to testify soon.
