Share

A search was underway Tuesday for a man who attempted to kidnap and threatened to kill a female Cal State Northridge student.

University police said the man approached the student on Dearborn Street near the campus about 3:40 p.m. The student said the man grabbed her in a bear hug from behind and warned her if she screamed he would kill her.

But the woman fought her way free and fled to police.

The man was described as white, age 25 to 30 and about 6 feet, 5 inches tall. He had short, dark hair and a 5 o’clock shadow beard and was wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans, and a black shirt with an unknown red logo. The woman told investigators he also has a tattoo on his right arm, possibly of a name.
