A Los Angeles firefighter was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after he was burned in a West Adams house fire that was being investigated by arson squad members.

The burns to the firefighter’s hand were described as minor by a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It was not immediately clear how the firefighter sustained the burns.

The cause of the blaze at the single-story home in the 4100 block of West Jefferson Boulevard was under investigation by the LAFD’s arson section, department spokesman Erik Scott said.

When fire crews arrived at the scene about 7 p.m., Scott said, the home was “well involved in fire.”

About 50 firefighters knocked down the fire in about 17 minutes. No other details were immediately available.
