A Los Angeles police officer was injured Monday morning in a shooting in the Hollywood Hills, officials said.

Sources said the officer was hit by shrapnel in the arm and face.
Paramedics responded to the area shortly after 9 a.m., L.A. Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main said. One patient was transported in unknown condition, she said, and the paramedics on scene were attending to another.
The Fire Department said two patients were transported to a local hospital.
No information about a suspect was immediately available.
Television footage showed about a dozen LAPD cars at the scene. Portions of area streets, including Laurel Canyon Boulevard, were also closed.
