Firefighters extracted a man from an overturned car Friday morning after a police chase came to an end in Boyle Heights, authorities said.
Police received a call of a stolen vehicle at 4:15 a.m., Los Angeles police Lt. Carlos Solano told KTLA-TV.
A vehicle pursuit ensued and ended when the car exited the southbound 5 Freeway at Mission Road and flipped over, Solano said.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was trapped inside until firefighters responded to remove him. The driver, who was not immediately identified, was then transported to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.
