Man arrested in deadly Hollywood Boulevard shooting
A 23-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of fatally shooting a man on Hollywood Boulevard, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around 11:40 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue in the heart of the popular nightlife and tourist district, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has not yet released his identity.
Within two hours of the shooting, police arrested Michael Vincent Carter, whom they identified as a San Fernando Valley gang member. He is being held on $1-million bail.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and detectives believe two men were with the victim and witnessed the killing.
