The body of a surfer last seen floating in rough waters off Marin County was found Friday, authorities said.
Daniel Dafoe, 40, of San Rafael was identified after his remains were discovered in the surf near Rodeo Beach, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
Dafoe was last seen Wednesday evening floating face-down, unconscious, near the north end of the beach, a popular Bay Area surfing spot.
Two surfers tried to bring Dafoe to shore but lost their grip when they were hit by a wave.
Earlier this week, powerful waves also swept two college students out to sea at Bonny Doon Beach in Santa Cruz.
In Southern California, the National Weather Service said high surf and rip current advisories will remain in effect through Sunday morning.
