Body of newborn baby found at Hesperia recycling center
Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a newborn baby girl whose body was found at a Hesperia recycling center Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The body was found on a conveyer belt about 8 a.m. by workers at Advance Disposal Co. in the 17100 block of Mesa Street, said San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller.
It was unclear how long the baby girl had been dead, and a cause of death had yet to be determined.
Officials urged anyone with knowledge of a woman who may have been recently pregnant or given birth without medical assistance, and who does not have their child, to call the Sheriff’s Department.
The discovery on Wednesday in Hesperia comes just a day after an employee at a waste collection site in Bassett found the remains of a woman on a conveyor belt. Four bodies have been found at the Bassett site over the last two years.
