Small plane crash lands near 405 Freeway in Long Beach

A single-engine plane crashed near Cherry Avenue and the 405 Freeway in Long Beach on Saturday.

A small plane crash landed Saturday afternoon near the 405 Freeway and Cherry Avenue in Long Beach.

Few details were immediately available, but the California Highway Patrol said there did not appear to be any injuries.

The CHP said the onramps around Cherry and Orange avenues are closed while the investigation occurs.

The area is just south of Long Beach Airport.

A photo showed the plane in pieces on the side of an onramp.
