Reader Photo: The perfect blend
On a recent family trip to the Angeles National Forest, Andres Tardio snapped one of his favorite shots on his iPhone 5.
The mobile photographer and native Angeleno writes in an email:
“The fog was thick, as the image shows. One of my Instagram followers said it looked like a pitcher getting ready for his next batter. I thought that was an interesting and accurate description. It looks almost like a dream-like baseball field.
The truth is, it’s a blend of two images I took that day. One of the images was of my brother-in-law Luis on what seemed to be a mound. The other image that I blended (using the Blender app) was of the trees. The individual pictures were not nearly as interesting as the blend. Many people don’t realize it’s really two images in one. And I like that bit of mystery too.”
