CicLAvia is expected to draw an estimated 100,000 people onto car-free streets of Los Angeles today.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and temporarily closes 15 miles of roads, prompting warnings to motorists about the potential for major delays.

L.A.’s CicLAvia was inspired by Bogota, Colombia’s Ciclovia, which has been staged in that traffic-choked city for 30 years.
