Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu shut down after hit and run
Two pedestrians were injured in a hit-and-run accident Friday night that forced the shutdown of a section of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, authorities said.
The pedestrians were crossing the highway in Malibu around 8:30 p.m. when they were hit, according L.A. County Sherrif’s Lt. Robert Wiard. One of the victims was a 54-year-old woman and the other a 4-year-old boy, according to KTLA-TV (Channel 5).
Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Wiard said. At least one person was airlifted to a hospital.
Wiard said authorities had received conflicting descriptions of the vehicle.
The highway was shut down in both directions between Puerco Canyon and Corral Canyon roads, where the incident occurred. At 10 p.m., it was unclear how long it would remain closed.
