Man arrested in fatal shooting of his ex-boss, allegedly over money

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man accused of killing his former employer in a dispute over money in Beverly Crest, authorities said.

Angelo Armani Eppolito-Autry, 28, was found about 4 p.m. Saturday with gunshot wounds by a business associate in the entryway of his studio apartment in the 10000 block of Westwanda Drive in Beverly Crest, said LAPD Det. Mark Morgan.

Residents said they heard gunshots about 3:30 p.m.

Eppolito-Autry was a contractor who hired people to help him carry out various construction jobs. He recently fired three to four people, including Gerson David Sanchez, 31, Morgan said.

Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of murder about 2 p.m. Sunday in Lakewood. Sanchez and Eppolito-Autry had an ongoing dispute over money, Morgan said.

Sanchez, who is being held in lieu of $1-million bail, is due in court Tuesday, according to the LAPD.

There have been no homicides within a mile of the location since at least 2007, according to The Times’ Homicide Report.
