Reader Photo: Blue parasol

Karol Franks captured this image in the Flower Fields in Carlsbad just as her daughter was opening a parasol.

She had gone to the Flower Fields with three fellow photographers and her daughters to take advantage of the light and color created by the 50 acres of blooms.

“I love to visit amazingly diverse locations and events in the Los Angeles area and share this experience with other photographers,” she said.

Franks used a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with a 17-55mm f/2.8 lens to make this image on April 1.
