Four people died when their car veered off the 110 Freeway and burst into flames in Southern California early Sunday, the CHP said.

The accident occurred at 3:30 a.m. at the northbound 110 offramp to the westbound 91 in Gardena, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Tony Polizzi. The cause of the crash is unknown.

The car went over the embankment and caught fire, trapping the four inside, said Polizzi. The identities of the victims were not available, but they were two males and two females, he said. There were no survivors.
