Readers React: What Bugliosi had to say about Bush

To the editor: In the obituary on Vincent Bugliosi, The Times neglects to mention his remarkable book, “The Betrayal of America,” a riveting account of how George W. Bush stole the 2000 presidential election. (“Famed Manson family prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi dies at 80,” June 9)

In the type of painstaking detail for which he was famous as a writer, Bugliosi explains how then-Gov. Jeb Bush (and his secretary of state) conspired to deliver Florida to his brother, and how the unexpected and unprecedented interference of the U.S. Supreme Court in stopping the vote count handed the election to George Bush.

Bugliosi’s curiosity, attention to detail and passion for the truth were hallmarks of his work.
