Horsey & friends talk about Romney, Obama and campaign 2012
Having bested a troop of colorful candidates in a relentless slog through the primaries, Mitt Romney is about to achieve his goal: the presidential nomination of the Republican Party. When he stands before the GOP delegates in Tampa, Fla., those who doubted his conservatism or his political skill and longed for another choice will cast aside their reluctance and embrace Romney as their champion – at least until election day.
Every quadrennial race for the White House has fascinating dynamics and this one continues to exhibit new twists almost every day. On Sept. 20, I will be joining with my Los Angeles Times colleagues, Politics Now writer James Rainey and Nick Goldberg, editor of the editorial page, for an in-depth discussion of Campaign 2012. Our exchange will take place before an audience at noon in the Times’ historic Globe Lobby as part of the “Thursdays at the Globe” series.
