Pet of the Week

Share

Kitten season doesn’t usually align with the celebrated gift-giving winter holidays. However, this year with the continuous warm weather, cats are continuing to mingle, and Community Animal Network may just have winter kittens if volunteers come forward to help save tiny lives now.

Community Animal Network’s rescue calls this year are indicating the need for those willing to lose a few winks by feeding newborn kittens. Without rescue help, newborns can be euthanized within hours of entering a municipal animal shelter.

Bottle feeding is a very rewarding round-the-clock experience for an intense couple of weeks. Losing sleep could discourage any average person. That’s why the plea is to our local animal lovers.

If you are considering adopting kittens this holiday season, why not volunteer to feed bottle babies now?

To volunteer, call (949) 759-3646. To donate, mail your checks to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658. Note on the checks “Feed the Kitties” and tax identification number 33-0971560.

Feeding supplies and all veterinary care will be provided by Community Animal Network. Volunteers will provide the cat litter and love. Kittens born now will be ready for adoption in time for the holidays — spayed and neutered, blood tested for diseases, vaccinated, checked for fleas and worms and microchipped.
