Pet of the Week: Dante

Share

Looking like he just finished a holiday meal, Dante is actually hoping to kiss a volunteer. He loves bestowing sloppy kisses.

Although found as a stray, he appears housebroken, obedient to commands and relatively easy to walk on a leash. Dante, probably a mastiff mix of about 3 years old, is small for his breed at 80 pounds. Mastiffs are typically quiet and gentle, even around rambunctious children. They are loyal to their families and serve as excellent home guardians.

Proper socialization is important for these dogs, in terms of behavior around strangers and other animals. Dante already shows good manners in many situations. His ears were unfortunately cropped, but he is otherwise healthy and will be neutered upon adoption.
