The man, who was in the front passenger seat, was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he died of his injuries Wednesday evening, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.

He was identified as Felipe Hermosillo-Padilla of Santa Ana.

His 77-year-old wife, who was riding in the back seat, was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries but is now in stable condition, police said

The 47-year-old driver suffered moderate injuries and was treated and released.

Neither Hermosillo-Padilla nor his wife was wearing a seat belt, police said.

No citations have been issued and no arrests were made. Police said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
