Traffic stop leads to arrest of 3 men

A Huntington Beach resident and two other men with possible gang ties were arrested Friday morning in Fountain Valley, according to authorities.

Officers stopped the men’s vehicle in the area of Euclid Street and Lavender Avenue at 2:37 a.m., according to a news release from the Fountain Valley Police Department.

A records check of the three men, the sole occupants of the car, found that they each had felony convictions and one of them was on parole, the report said.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a loaded firearm under the front passenger seat. Police said they determined that it had been reported stolen.

Police also discovered that all three suspects had possible gang ties, according to the news release.

Jerry Huy Huynh, 30, of Huntington Beach; Napoleon Van Tran, 18, of Santa Ana; and Kevin Tran Nguyen, 18, of Westminster, were each arrested for possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, felon with previous weapons charge, possession of a concealed firearm inside a vehicle and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, police said.

They were booked into Orange County Jail.
