Light a Light of Love raises $100,000 for Huntington Beach Youth Shelter
Giant snowflakes cast a cheery glow on the Huntington Beach Pier Sunday evening as the 19th annual Light a Light of Love celebration raised more than $100,000 for the Huntington Beach Youth Shelter, organizers said.
The benefit for Community Service Programs’ shelter – an emergency crisis and intervention program for children ages 11 to 17 – featured a holiday parade on Main Street, entertainment by youth groups, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Pier Plaza and the lighting of more than 80 sponsored 6-foot-tall snowflakes, which will stick around through the holidays on the pier and Main Street.
