Police arrested three people Saturday after chasing them on the 405 Freeway from Huntington Beach to Long Beach.

A patrol officer saw a vehicle speeding out of a residential tract in Huntington Beach and tried to pull the car over to see what was going on, according to Lt. Brian Seitz of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The pursuit reached the 405 Freeway at about 9:50 p.m., according to Lt. Steve Bushhousen.

The chase ended after the vehicle left the freeway and police performed a pit maneuver at 32nd Street and Orange Avenue, Bushhousen said.

“The officer’s original suspicions were well-founded,” Seitz said. “He basically discovered a burglary that just occurred.”

Police arrested three men in the car.

Angel Giron, 20, and Jonathan Lopez-Mejia, 21, both of Los Angeles, and Luis Tapia-Pacheco, 27, of Fontana were charged with burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools, Bushhousen said.

Giron, the driver, also was charged with felony evading and driving under the influence of drugs.

All were booked into Orange County Jail. Tapia-Pacheco was released Sunday after posting bond, according to jail records.
