Huntington Beach police are looking for suspects in the recent stabbing of a man outside the city’s Central Library.

The 37-year-old Huntington Beach resident, whose identity has not been made public, died Friday after a fight broke out in the library’s northeast parking lot in Central Park.

Police first received calls about the fight around 12:30 a.m., and when they arrived at the site, they found the man lying on the ground. He was taken to an area hospital where he eventually died.

Hours after the fight, police arrested a 27-year-old man and 17-year-old female, both from Huntington Beach, whom they believed were connected to the case. Both were later released after the Orange County district attorney’s office declined to prosecute them, citing a lack of sufficient evidence.

Police’s investigation into the stabbing is ongoing and no further details about it are being released.

Police are requesting anyone with information to call (714) 375-5066 or the anonymous crime stoppers hotline at (855) 847-6227.
