Clippers look at 6 players in pre-draft workout

Not knowing where they will be drafted can be the toughest thing to deal with for prospective NBA players attending pre-draft workouts.
So they all give their best, trying to showcase their talents. That’s what the six players who worked out for the Clippers on Wednesday hoped they were able to accomplish.
“It’s been all around, from 10 to mid-range in the first round, to out of the first round,” DeAndre Bembry, a 6-foot-5 guard from St. Joseph’s, said about his draft prospects. “I’ve heard pretty much everything.”
With the Clippers having the 25th pick in the first round, Bembry may have done enough for the team to take a long look at taking him there. The Clippers also have a second-round pick (33).
“Yeah, I feel like I’m definitely a first-round talent,” Bembry said. “But you never know. I feel like I’ll be good wherever I end up.”

For Daniel Hamilton, a 6-foot-8 guard-forward out of Connecticut, his workout for the Clippers was a unique experience.
Hamilton attended St. John Bosco in Bellflower.
He said he grew up a fan of the Clippers and the Lakers, who he worked out for on Tuesday.
“It’s a blessing, especially watching these two teams growing up,” said Hamilton, who averaged 11.7 points, 4.2 assists and 8.3 rebounds in his two years in college. “Especially the Clippers coming a long way and the Lakers winning three (NBA) championships. It’s a blessing and a dream come true. I’m just waiting on the draft experience.”
At the end of the workout, all the players had to run sprints.
They seemed to struggle at times, but all have worked out for several teams recently and that can take a toll.
Zach Auguste, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Notre Dame, has a total of 19 workouts scheduled.
Asked the city where he worked out before coming to the Clippers, Auguste paused. This was his 10th workout and he was having a hard time remembering where he was last.
“Well, I came from… I just came from... Excuse me. Where did I just come from?” Auguste said, smiling. “I have Phoenix tomorrow. And I just came from L.A.”
He laughed, knowing that he was in L.A. at that moment.
“I don’t even know, man,” Auguste said, smiling. “I just know I have Phoenix tomorrow. The time zones are crazy. You forget the day for sure. It’s just another day in the week.”
