A stiff neck will prevent Mat Latos from starting for the Dodgers on Wednesday night in their series finale against the Angels.

Joe Wieland will start in Latos’ place.

Latos, who was acquired from the Miami Marlins leading up to the July 31 nonwaiver trade deadline, has pitched fewer than five innings in each of his last four starts.

In his five starts with the Dodgers, Latos is 0-2 with a 6.56 earned-run average.

Following his most recent start, Latos complained that he couldn’t develop a rhythm because he was being removed from games too early.

Wieland spent most of this season at triple-A Oklahoma City, where he was 10-5 with a 4.59 ERA.

Wieland started one game for the Dodgers this season, on May 6. He allowed six runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings in a 6-3 loss in Milwaukee.

Wieland’s roommate in Oklahoma City, top prospect Corey Seager, will start at shortstop again as veteran Jimmy Rollins remains sidelined with a jammed right knuckle.

With Yasmani Grandal still unavailable because of shoulder inflammation, Austin Barnes will start at catcher.

The Dodgers lineup:
Scott Schebler LF
Chase Utley 2B
Adrian Gonzalez DH
Justin Turner 3B
Andre Ethier RF
Corey Seager SS
Scott Van Slyke RF
Joc Pederson CF
Austin Barnes C
