The National League Championship Series will begin Friday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Vegas oddsmakers have the Dodgers as a slight favorite, even though the Cardinals have home-field advantage.

There are a couple of reasons for this. One, the 42-8 run the Dodgers went on near the end of the season have convinced many that they are the best team in baseball, even if they didn’t finish with the best record. Once the Dodgers got healthy, they won more games than anyone else.

The Dodgers went 45-36 on the road during the season, tied with Texas for the best road record in baseball, so not having home-field advantage isn’t that big of a deal.

The Dodgers’ best pitchers, Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw, will start Games 1 and 2. Because he had to pitch Wednesday, Adam Wainwright, who is the Cardinals’ best pitcher, won’t be able to start until Game 3.

This is not to say it will be an easy task. The Cardinals have a great team and will be an extremely difficult foe to defeat.

The prediction here: Dodgers in 6.

But what is your prediction? Vote in our poll and let us know.
