Dodgers’ Zack Greinke gets sixth win of season

ON THE MOUND: Limiting the Giants to two runs and six hits over seven innings, Zack Greinke improved to 6-1. When pitching immediately after a Dodgers loss, Greinke is 11-1 with a 2.12 earned-run average over two seasons. Brian Wilson loaded the bases in the eighth inning but didn’t give up any runs. Chris Perez pitched a perfect ninth inning.

AT THE PLATE: Overshadowed by Dee Gordon’s performance was Yasiel Puig, who was two for four and extended his hitting streak to a career-long 10 games. Puig scored a run and drove in one.

MEDICAL REPORT: Juan Uribe tested his strained right hamstring with some light indoor running. Uribe is expected to run harder Sunday. Considering the progress he has made, the team’s medical staff is confident he can avoid the disabled list, Manager Don Mattingly said.

ON THE MEND: Catcher A.J. Ellis will start a minor league rehabilitation assignment Sunday with triple-A Albuquerque. Ellis, who is recovering from a minor knee operation, is scheduled to play a minimum of two minor league games before he is activated.
