Boys’ basketball: Harvard-Westlake gets back Cassius Stanley on Saturday
- Share via
About the only people who thought Harvard-Westlake could win two state playoff games without their leading scorer, freshman Cassius Stanley, were probably the players themselves and their first-year coach, David Rebibo.
The Wolverines pulled it off and now get Stanley back on Saturday for their Division IV regional final against Viewpoint at 4 p.m. at Colony. Stanley missed two playoff games while recovering from a concussion.
Harvard-Westlake veteran guards Wolfgang Novogratz, Ali Iken and Carter Begel helped the team make it through.
“You never want to lose anybody, but it’s a testament to our guys’ hard work,” Rebibo said. “We’re really defending. Everything I’ve preached since the first meeting is being bought into. It means we can be that much better when he comes back.”
