Forward Kyle Palmieri, playing with Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan, stepped up and scored twice against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, the first Ducks rookie to score two goals in a game since Matt Beleskey did so on April 9, 2010 at St. Louis. Kings Coach Darryl Sutter spoke about the team’s improved power play since the arrival of Jeff Carter. “When you move [Mike] Richards back to the point and you try to get Kopi [Anze Kopitar] and Richie [Richards] in the middle of the ice more and get Carter utilizing his shot more, and [Dwight] King being a net-presence guy with a good stick more, there’s defined roles on all really good power plays,” Sutter said. “There’s defined roles and then there is execution.”
