Denzel Valentine had 25 points and Bryn Forbes scored a season-high 20 to help No. 3 Michigan State come back to beat No. 24 Louisville, 71-67, on Tuesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at East Lansing, Mich.

The Spartans (8-0) trailed by as much as 13 in the first half and took their first lead with 6:47 left.

Valentine later made a tiebreaking three-pointer, set up Deyonta Davis for an alley-oop dunk and connected on a shot in the lane to put Michigan State up 65-58 with 1:54 remaining.

Damion Lee finished with 23 points and Trey Lewis scored 21 points for the Cardinals (5-1) in their first game this season on an opponent’s home court.

Wisconsin 66, at No. 14 Syracuse 58 (OT): Nigel Hayes had 15 points and 12 rebounds, converting a three-point play to break a tie in overtime, and the Badgers handed the Orange its first loss.

at No. 7 Duke 94, Indiana 74: Freshman Brandon Ingram scored a season-best 24 points and Amile Jefferson came close to a triple-double for the Blue Devils (7-1) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Durham, N.C.

Butler 78, at No. 17 Cincinnati 76: Kellen Dunham scored 24 points while leading a second-half comeback, and Roosevelt Jones made a bank shot with a tenth of a second left, rallying the Bulldogs (5-1) in the first game between the schools since the 1997 NCAA tournament.

No. 13 Gonzaga 69, at Washington State 60: Kyle Wiltjer scored 24 points as the Bulldogs handed the Cougars (4-1) their first loss.

Also: Louisiana State freshman Ben Simmons scored 43 points in a 119-108 victory over North Florida, the most for a Tigers player since Shaquille O’Neal had 43 against Northern Arizona on Dec. 28, 2001.
