Dodgers’ best and worst moments of 2009

May 6- Manny Ramirez suspended
Manny Ramirez is suspended for 50 games. Look down and you’ll see that Ramirez’s suspension, handed down on May 6 for violating baseball’s drug policy, is also ranked the worst moment of the season. The positive view is that Ramirez’s absence let the Dodgers know they could win without him. Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp established themselves as All-Star-caliber players in his absence. One of the team’s least popular players over the last two seasons, Juan Pierre emerged as one of the most popular, in part because of how he played in place of Ramirez in left field.
