UCLA tonight

AT STANFORD

When: 8.

Where: Maples Pavilion, Palo Alto.

On the air: TV: Prime Ticket; Radio: 570.

Records: UCLA 7-5, Stanford, 10-2.

Update: Stanford has the best RPI among conference schools at No. 32 as the Pac-12 Conference season begins. The Cardinal is anchored by senior forward Josh Owens. He has led Stanford in scoring six times and is averaging 12.7 points per game. Chasson Randle has made 41.7% (20 of 48) of his three-point shots and Aaron Bright has made 48.9% (23 of 47) of his. It will be a test of UCLA’s fledgling zone defense that has helped the Bruins go on a five-game winning streak. But UCLA is 11th in the conference — ahead of only (Utah — at defending three-point shooters. The Bruins were picked in the preseason to win the Pac-12 but now rank in the bottom half of most conference team stats. There are three exceptions: UCLA leads in blocked shots (5.4 per game), in assist/turnover ratio and is third in steals and turnover margin. Guards Lazeric Jones and Norman Powell, who sprained ankles Monday, practiced Tuesday and are expected to play.
