San Diego State downs TCU, 60-53
at No. 7 San Diego State 60, Texas Christian 53: Billy White scored 19 to lead the Aztecs (23-1, 8-1 Mountain West), who have won three games in a row. Kawhi Leonard, a sophomore forward, grabbed a rebound at the final buzzer for his 16th double-double of the season and 33rd of his career. Hank Thorns had 16 points for the Horned Frogs (10-14, 1-8), who lost their sixth consecutive game. The Aztecs looked lethargic in the first half and, after taking a 28-24 halftime lead, finally took control early in the second half. Texas Christian took a 6-0 lead and, even after San Diego State, continued to play toe to toe with the Aztecs through the first half.
UC Riverside 70, at Cal State Fullerton 69: Kevin Bradshaw’s dunk with three seconds left lifted the Highlanders (9-12, 4-5 Big West), who got possession for the winning basket with 20 seconds left after a turnover by the Titans (9-15, 5-6). Bradshaw finished with 13 points and Phil Martin had 26 for the Highlanders. Perry Webster scored 15 points for the Titans.
Pepperdine 70, at San Diego 63 (OT): Mychel Thompson made a 35-foot shot at the buzzer to tie the score at the end of regulation and scored 12 of his 25 points in overtime to lift the Waves (10-16, 4-5 West Coast). The Waves trailed, 57-54, when Thompson made his shot from two strides inside the half-court line. Devin Ginty led the Toreros (5-19, 1-8) with a career-high 23 points.
at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 58, Pacific 39: Shawn Lewis had his first double-double this season with 15 points and 15 rebounds, and David Hanson scored 21 points to lead the Mustangs (11-11, 6-4 Big West). Allen Huddleston scored 13 points for Pacific (13-10, 5-5). It was the second time this season that the Tigers managed only 39 points against the Mustangs, who won the teams’ earlier meeting, 43-39, on Jan. 6 in Stockton.
at St. Mary’s 79, Loyola Marymount 70: Ashley Hamilton scored 16 points for the Lions (9-15, 1-8 West Coast), who played without leading scorer Drew Viney, who had a migraine. Matthew Dellavedova had 23 points for the Gaels (20-4, 8-1).
