Metta World Peace, Lisa Leslie steal show in ‘Think Like a Man’

So there I am, watching “Think Like a Man” with my wife and one of my daughters. (It’s a decent movie, but you can wait for the DVD.) As I look around the theater to see if I am actually the only guy in the place, I catch sight of a familiar face on the screen: Metta World Peace. The artist formerly known as Ron Artest.

One of the running gimmicks in the movie is that the guys get together once a week to play basketball. At the end of one of their games, World Peace walks up and asks if he can use the court. This causes Cedric, played by Kevin Hart, to launch into a hilarious verbal tirade, challenging Peace to play for the court, despite the fact that Metta appears about 3 feet taller than him.

His cockiness lessens when he sees Peace’s friends walk up: Lisa Leslie, Shannon Brown, Matt Barnes and Darren Collison. Suddenly, Cedric and his pals aren’t as keen on playing them.

Watch World Peace as he tries to keep a straight face through all this. He bites his lip, puts his hand up to cover his mouth, all in a bid to maintain his composure during the scene as Hart gives a brilliant display of verbal and physical comedy.

After the movie’s over, stick around for the credits, when you get to see what happens during the game. Leslie blocks about 12 shots in a row. It is easily the funniest part of the whole picture.

So, if Metta gets suspended by the NBA for his flagrant foul on James Harden, perhaps he can find another movie to make.
